TRACKING EXPERIENTIAL REALITY THROUGH SOMATIC CUES

As one of the most fundamental skills in any somatic practice, “tracking” allows us to monitor our own sensations and guide our clients through heir process by facilitating autonomic nervous system resolution.

As therapists, how do we guide our clients into their inner world—and bring them back safely? What body language cues do we notice that may be cues for therapeutic intervention? How do we rescue our clients from the “traumatic vortex” and promote discharge, all while creating trust in the therapeutic relationship. This workshop will help you explore your own answers to these questions based on your experience and on tracking the client through their “experiential reality.”

Participants will learn:

  • To use the ‘multi-tasking mind’ and Alé’s concept of “windows” to create ‘flow’ in the system, to prepare the client for deeper experiences, and to assess outlets for discharge.
  • To refine the use of language as a way to deepen the client’s experience.
  • To read the client’s cues during the session with more accuracy.
  • How to feel ease with “intuitive tracking” during the process.
  • To broaden their understanding of the somatic process.

About the workshop:

This experiential workshop will use movement, music, videos, group interaction, and self-exploration to reveal what lies hidden beneath sensations, posture, language, and facial expressions. Skills and techniques appropriate for each situation will be demonstrated and practiced during the workshop, and participants will be offered an environment to embody their experiences while moving between the “inner” and “outer” world.

Requirements:

Participants must have some prior SE experiencing® or experience in another related somatic field.

Ale’s development of Somatic Experiencing (SE), focusing on integration rather than trauma, is excitingly effective. All those who have witnessed his work in Sichuan and Hong Kong were deeply touched, amazed, and have great appreciation for his natural instinct in gently leading towards integration. Those who have experienced his work really benefitted personally and professionally.
