Welcome to the KidSoma Practitioner Training!
We created this training to equip professionals with the skills and knowledge to support children’s development, resilience, and creativity in today’s complex world. Our goal is to help you structure your sessions with clarity and support a balance between bonding and creative construction, ensuring that children thrive both emotionally and developmentally.

In this 3 - module training, you will learn how to address the erosion of children’s creative-constructive capacities in a world dominated by electronic distractions and social media. You will gain systemic insights, practical strategies, and innovative tools to integrate into your practice, whether in therapy, education, or caregiving. In the learning process you will be guided by Alé Duarte and a dedicated team of professionals from medicine, psychology, counselling, and pedagogy, working together to nurture children’s growth and resilience.
We're looking forward to this journey with you!
Alé Duarte & Team

Why This Training Matters
Today’s professionals face unprecedented challenges when working with children.
-
73% of child therapists report that cases are becoming increasingly complex, with emotional and behavioral difficulties showing up earlier and more persistently.
-
Traditional interventions often miss the root cause: children’s capacity to regulate their nervous system. Yet evidence shows that 66% of regulation-focused interventions produce significant improvements, and 100% of studies on conduct disorders show positive outcomes when regulation is prioritized.
At the same time, professionals themselves need tools to avoid burnout and maintain effectiveness. Research confirms that co-regulation training strengthens both professional competence and child outcomes—an investment that benefits the entire system.
The KidSoma Practitioner Training directly responds to this need:
-
It integrates the 5 Phases of Self-Regulation Model with practical facilitation tools.
-
It leverages creative-constructive play and expression, which science shows to directly activate regulation pathways and build resilience.
-
It equips professionals to transform sessions into bonding and growth opportunities, ensuring that every encounter supports both connection and development.
For organizations, this means staff trained in nervous system–informed session architecture: a framework that is evidence-based, adaptable across settings, and designed to meet the rising complexity of children’s needs today.

-
Apply the Five Phases of Self-Regulation model to assess and support children’s regulatory processes

MODULE 2

Creative-Constructive Facilitation
Ignite, Restore, and Guide Children’s Creative-Constructive Potential

Understand how creative and constructive capacities develop—and why these are often eroded in today’s overstimulated environment.
-
Use the KidSoma Creative Model to stimulate ideation, persistence, and meaningful goal completion.
-
Facilitate constructive cycles: beginning, middle, and end—even when children face frustration or lose motivation.
-
Foster self-efficacy, healthy risk-taking, and positive problem-solving through embodied, play-based learning.
-
Integrate bonding (trust and connection) and balance (emotional organization) as keys for creative-constructive growth.
"I witnessed Ale meeting children as they are, without judgment, without wanting to educate, to transform the child into the adult's project. Standing side by side, with genuine empathy and curiosity, providing all the support, all the space for what comes from within....the child managing to feel and self-regulate, returning to themselves the confidence to be, to explore, to grow."
Filipa T.
MODULE 3

Somatic Tracking & Session Integration
Bringing It Together: Stories, Senses, and Systemic Change
-
Master the art of somatic tracking: reading children’s felt-sense cues and movement strategies to support regulation and growth.
-
Implement the Stories in Transformation approach to safely process experiences and foster self-expression.
-
Link sensation, movement, and narrative, so children can both name and shift their emotional realities.
-
Integrate all learning—regulation, creativity, relationship—into sessions that leave a lasting mark, supporting every child’s resilience.
This training is for you if you are...
